POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Vassar men's fencing team captured its tenth consecutive Matt Lampell Hudson River Invitational title on Sunday, going 7-0 on the day. The Brewers are now 14-1 this season. At least one Vassar fencer went undefeated in their respective weapon.

Vassar's sabre squad led the day with a 48-6 overall record, while epee posted a 45-9 mark. Foil found success as well, tallying a 44-10 record. The Vassar "A" team opened with a 25-2 victory against Cornell.

Against Cornell, the foil trio of
Caleb Klein (Chappaqua, NY),
Adlai Brandt-Ogman (South Salem, NY), and
Chase Estes (Naples, FL) tabbed 2-0 marks each, and the sabre group of
Noe Berger (Brooklyn, NY),
Evin Heintz (Pearland, TX), and
Conor Travaglione (Vestal, NY) all went 2-0 as well. Vassar won 7-2 in epee behind 2-0 marks from
Roman Guglielmo (New York, NY) and Alex Moyse (Montclair, NJ).

They then defeated RPI, 24-3. They then downed Drew 20-7 before winning 22-5 over Binghamton. The Brewers closed with three wins against RIT (22-5), Marist (24-2, and Rochester (24-3).

Heintz would go on to finish they day at 19-0, while Travaglione also was undefeated at 17-0. Berger posted 11 wins. At foil, Klein was the top competitor at 18-0. Brandt-Ogman tallied five sweeps and finished the day at 17-1. Meanwhile, Estes recorded 10 wins. Moyse swept through all his opponents, going 15-0.
Abram Gregory (North Smithfield, RI) recorded a 10-1 mark in his return to action, while sophomore
Nishay Bhatnagar (Livingston, NJ) posted 11 wins and Guglielmo chalked up eight wins.

The Brewers return to the strips on Nov. 24 to compete at the Drew Invitational in Madison, NJ.
