Staten Island, NY - The Vassar College Men's Fencing team earned a victory over Yeshiva University on Sunday as the Brewers also faced off with four Division I foes at the Brian Palestis Memorial Invitational at Wagner College.

Round 1 - Penn State 17 Vassar 10

• Epee - PSU 5 VC 4
  • Sophomore Alexander North posted a perfect 3-0 round while sophomore Harper Jamison scored a victory.
  • Sophomore Sam Sosnick fenced in three bouts.
• Foil - PSU 9 VC 0
  • Sophomore Alexander Gobbo and classmate Ethan Capra battled in three bouts apiece.
  • Sophomore Kahlil Salome fenced in one bout while first year Aaron Taplin competed in two bouts.
• Sabre - VC 6 PSU 3
  • First year Jason Jensby, sophomore Devan McCarthy and sophomore Karthik Shankar each earned two victories.

Round 2 - Wagner 14 Vassar 13

• Epee - WAG 6 VC 3
  • North added two more victories along with Jamison posted a win.
  • Sophomore Adam Elkashef battled in three bouts.
• Foil - WAG 7 VC 2
  • Gobbo and Capra both tallied a victory while Salome competed in three bouts.
• Sabre - VC 8 WAG 1
  • McCarthy and Jensby each earned undefeated 3-0 rounds while senior Oliver Berger went 2-0.
  • First year Luca Savoy battled in one bout.

Round 3 - North Carolina 24 Vassar 3

• Epee - UNC 8 VC 1
  • North earned the lone victory in the round.
  • Elkashef and Jamison competed in three bouts apiece.
• Foil - UNC 9 VC 0
  • Taplin, Gobbo and Capra fenced in three bouts each.
• Sabre - UNC 7 VC 2
  • Berger and McCarthy each garnered a victory.
  • Jensby battled in three bouts while Shankar competed in one bout.

Round 4 - Columbia 25 Vassar 2

• Epee - COL 8 VC 1
  • Jamison secured a win while North and Sosnick battled in three bouts.
• Foil - COL 9 VC 0
  • Capra and Taplin dueled in three bouts along with Salome competing in two bouts.
  • Gobbo fenced in one bout.
• Sabre - COL 8 VC 1
  • Savoy tallied a victory while McCarthy battled in three bouts.
  • Shankar fenced in two bouts along with Berger and Jensby each competed in one bout.

Round 5 - Vassar 24 Yeshiva 3

• Epee - VC 9 YES 0
  • Jamison, Sosnick and Elkashef all earned three victories.
• Foil - VC 6 YES 3
  • Gobbo and Salome both scored perfect 3-0 rounds.
  • Taplin battled in three bouts.
• Sabre - VC 9 YES 0
  • Jensby, Shankar and Savoy all went undefeated at 3-0.
