Chestnut Hill, MA - The Vassar College Men's Fencing team scored a victory over Wheaton (MA) as the epee squad led the way with a 25-20 overall record at the Northeast Fencing Conference meet on the campus of Boston College on Saturday.

Round Two - Vassar 16 Wheaton 11

• Epee - VC 7 WHE 2
  • Sophomore Harper Jamison went undefeated at 3-0 along with junior Christopher Garfield Sebert and senior Brian Li recording two wins.
• Foil - WHE 7 VC 2
  • Sophomore Alexander Gobbo secured both victories in the round.
  • Sophomore Ethan Capra and classmate Kahlil Salome battled in three bouts each.
• Sabre - VC 7 WHE 2
  • Senior Oliver Berger posted a perfect 3-0 round while sophomore Devan McCarthy and first year Jason Jensby added two wins each.

Round Three - MIT 14 Vassar 13

• Epee - VC 5 MIT 4
  • Sophomore Alexander North and Li each earned two victories.
  • First year Jing Seto secured a win.
• Foil - MIT 6 VC 3
  • Capra, first year Aaron Taplin and Gobbo all scored a win.
• Sabre - VC 5 MIT 4
  • Berger and McCarthy both garnered two wins.
  • First year Luca Savoy also secured a victory.

Round Four - Boston College 21 Vassar 6

• Epee - BC 7 VC 2
  • Seto and North each picked up a win.
  • Li battled in three bouts.
• Foil - BC 7 VC 2
  • Capra tallied both victories in the round.
  • Gobbo and Taplin each competed in three bouts.
• Sabre - BC 7 VC 2
  • Berger and McCarthy scored a win each.
  • Jensby fenced in three bouts and sophomore Karthik Shankar competed in one bout.

Round Five - Sacred Heart 17 Vassar 10

• Epee - VC 7 SHU 2
  • North and Seto both went a perfect 3-0 in the fifth round.
  • Li added a victory.
• Foil - SHU 9 VC 0
  • Taplin, Capra and Gobbo fenced in three bouts each.
• Sabre - SHU 6 VC 3
  • Berger led the way with two wins along with Savoy tallying a victory.
  • McCarthy battled in two bouts while Shankar fenced in one bout.

Round Seven - Brandeis 16 Vassar 11

• Epee - BRAN 5 VC 4
  • North registered two wins along with Jamison and Seto both added a victory.
• Foil - BRAN 6 VC 3
  • Taplin scored two wins along with Capra securing a victory.
• Sabre - BRAN 5 VC 4
  • McCarthy went a perfect 3-0 while Jensby picked up a win.
  • Shankar competed in three bouts.
