Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams both turned in stellar performances on Saturday on Senior Day as part of the VC Sprint Invitational. The women's squad won the event with 625 points with the men's team placing second in the four-team field with a point total of 508.
For The Brewers – Women's Swimming and Diving
- The Brewers won 12 events in the meet and posted a pair of meet records.
- Prior to Saturday's event, Vassar honored the six members of the senior class: Szofia Lewis (Pittsfield, MA), Alanna Muello (South Windsor, CT), Karlie Porter (Zachary, LA), Sarah Quintana (Chandler, AZ), Alejandra Robins (El Cerrito, CA) and Jolie Walker (Chicago, IL).
- Quintana posted a victory in the 50-yard backstroke (28.33) and the 100-yard individual medley (1:02.78) and added a runner-up finish in the 400-yard individual medley (4:49.98).
- Robins won the 100-yard butterfly (59.40), took second in the 100-yard freestyle (55.71) and scored a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.71).
- Muello was victorious in the 50-yard butterfly (27.29) and tied for third in the 50-yard freestyle (25.82).
- Walker swam to a third-place finish for Vassar in the 50-yard backstroke (29.60).
- Abigail McLaughlin (Denver, CO) won a pair of events, winning the 50-yard freestyle in a meet record time of 25.19 seconds and topping the field in the 100-yard freestyle in 54.96 seconds.
- Addie Wiener (Maplewood, NJ) won the 500-yard freestyle (5:17.99).
- Quinn Hoagland (Colts Neck, NJ) closed a strong meet with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.51), a runner-up finish in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.09) and a third-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:23.85).
- First Year Anna Little (Irwin, PA won a pair of events for the Brewers, taking the top spot in the 400-yard individual medley (4:48.18) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.35).
- Frances Pope (Orida, CA) took the second position in the 50-yard breaststroke (32.98) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.19).
- First Year Vivien Li (Pittsburgh, PA) was the runner-up in the 100-yard individual medley (1:04.22) and finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.83).
- Maya Luongo (Katonah, NY) tied for third in the 50-yard freestyle (25.82) and scored a third-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly (27.90).
- Vassar won both the relay events contested on Saturday, opening the day with a victory in the 200-yard medley race and finishing the day with a win in the 200-yard freestyle event.
- The medley team of Quintana, Little, Robins and Luongo bested the field in 1:52.64.
- The freestyle team of Muello, Wiener, Luongo and McLaughlin closed the day with a meet record time of 1:41.58.
For The Brewers – Men's Swimming and Diving
- The Brewers won five events on Saturday.
- Prior to the meet, the Brewers honored seniors Lukas Johnson (Minneapolis, MN), Han Ryu (Chantilly, VA) and Rory Stumpf (Potomac, MD).
- Ricky Kurosawa (Las Vegas, NC) led the way for the Brewers with a pair of victories, taking the top spot in the 50-yard breaststroke (27.97) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.35).
- First Year Lucas Jauregui (Barrington, RI) closed the day with a win in the 50-yard backstroke (25.52), a runner-up finish in the 50-yard butterfly (23.72) and a third-place showing in the 50-yard breaststroke (28.96).
- Hayden Ehrenfeld (Long Beach, CA) bested the field on Saturday in the 100-yard freestyle (50.16) and swam to a runner-up finish in the 50-yard freestyle (56.79).
- Swimming in the Senior Day meet, Johnson turned in a second-place swim in the 500-yard freestyle (5:07.34) to go along with a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke (29.07) and a fifth-place showing in the 200-yard individual medley (1:00.09).
- Ryu also had a strong Senior Day meet for the Brewers, recording a third-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly (24.42) and a fourth-place swim in the 50-yard freestyle (22.53).
- Stumpf closed the Senior Day meet for Vassar with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.34) and a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (56.79).
- Daniel Furman (Secaucus, NJ) finished third for Vassar in the 500-yard freestyle (5:19.33).
- Alex Graber (Harrison, NY) placed second for the Brewers in the 400-yard individual medley (4:42.10).
- James Hatch (Los Altos, CA) turned in a pair of strong swims for the Brewers, taking second in the 100-yard backstroke (58.05) and third in the 50-yard backstroke (27.61).
- Sam Deluca (Mifflinburg, PA) finished closely behind Hatch in both backstroke races, placing third in the 100-yard race (58.30) and fourth in the 50-yard event (28.07).
- Robin Auwaerter (Syracuse, NY) took the fourth position on Saturday in the 500-yard freestyle (5:20.00).
- Jack Kahan (Lewiston, ME) posted a lifetime best performance off the 1-meter diving board, producing a score of 119.70.
- The Brewers had a strong afternoon in the relay events, closing the meet with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle race and opening the day with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley event.
- The freestyle team of Ryu, Croix Horsley (Cinnaminson, NJ), Stumpf and Johnson swam to a winning time of 1:30.19.
- The 200-yard medley quartet of Jauregui, Kurosawa, Ryu and Ehrenfeld took second in a time of 1:37.79.

- BOth the Men's and Women's team will be off until they open competition at the 2024 Liberty League Championship beginning on February 21.
