Ten Brewers Qualify For Friday’s Final Session At Liberty League Championship

Lakhan ninth quickest in 100-yard breaststroke prelims

Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Men's Swimming and Diving team continued the 2026 Liberty League Championship Friday morning with preliminary swims on Day Three of the event. First Year Kiernan Lakhan (Kensington, MD) led the way with a ninth-place qualifying time in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Lakhan led five Brewers to qualify for the finals in the breaststroke event with a personal best time of 59.04 seconds Friday morning.
Eli House (Oneonta, NY) and Ricky Kurosawa (Las Vegas, NV) will join Lakhan in Friday's 'B' final after swimming times of 1:00.20 and 1:00.75, respectively.
First Year Sebastian Chang-Leung (Silver Spring, MD) and senior Daniel Wang (Carlisle, MA) will swim in the 'C' final on Friday after qualifying with times of 1:04.81 and 1:06.28.
In the 100-yard backstroke Friday morning, John Gao (Ann Arbor, MI) swam into the 'B' final for the Brewers after posting a time of 53.87 seconds.
James Hatch (Los Altos, CA) and Daniel Furman (Secaucus, NJ) will appear in the 'C' final of the backstroke event after touching out in times of 57.70 and 59.94 seconds, respectively.
Vassar will feature a pair of swimmers in the finals of the 200-yard butterfly Friday evening with Elam Estella (Colorado Springs, CO) appearing in the 'B' final with a qualifying time of 2:02.42.
Matthew Short (Scituate, MA) qualified for the 'C' final with a prelim time of 2:09.40.

Vassar will compete in Friday's Finals session starting at 6:00 p.m.
