Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Men's Swimming and Diving team maintained its fifth-place ranking through events on Day Three of the Liberty League Championships, finishing the night with 396 points. Vassar's best team finish came in a fifth-place showing in the 200-yard medley relay.
Ithaca continues to hold the team lead with 1,294 points and is followed by RIT (1,206.5), RPI (812), Clarkson (781.5), Union (508), Skidmore (461), Vassar (396), Hobart (234), St. Lawrence (232) and Bard (126).
For The Brewers
- Vassar opened the Friday night session with a fifth-place swim in the 200-yard medley relay. The quartet of John Gao (Anna Arbor, MI), Kieran Lakhan (Kensington, MD), Sam Deluca (Mifflinburg, PA) and Eli House (Oneonta, NY) posting a time of 1:35.86.
- To finish the night, the 800-yard freestyle relay team of Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA), Jack Powers (Amherst, NY), Vuk Usina (Tallahassee, FL) and Lakhan took the seventh position in 7:24.71.
- Lakhan scored the team's best individual finish of the night, taking ninth overall swimming in the 'B" final of the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 59.18 seconds.
- House turned in a 13th-place swim in the breaststroke event, touching out in 1:00.38.
- Also swimming in the 'B' final for the Brewers was Ricky Kurosawa (Las Vegas, NV) who touched out 15th overall in 1:01.03.
- Sebastian Chang-Leung (Silver Spring, MD) and Daniel Wang (Carlisle, MA) both competed in the 'C' final finishing 20th and 23rd with times of 1:04.74 and 1:05.60, respectively.
- First Year Elam Estella (Colorado Springs, CO) took the 16th position in the 200-yard butterfly, showing a time of 2:04.82.
- Matthew Short (Scituate, MA) swam to a 23rd-place finish on Friday, posting a time of 2:08.86.
- A trio of Brewers were in action on Friday in the 100-yard backstroke finals with Gao touching out 12th overall, showing a time of 53.68 seconds.
- James Hatch (Los Altos, CA) and Daniel Furman (Secaucus, NJ) swam in the 'C' final for Vassar and swam times of 57.58 and 59.70 seconds, good for 19th and 23rd place.
- Vassar's 'B' entry in the 200-yard medley relay of Seiss, Kurosawa, Estella and Wang placed 21st and recorded a time of 1:39.78.
- The 'B' 800-yard freestyle unit of Robin Auwaerter (Syracuse, NY). Jacob Collette (Milford, CT), Laszlo Lawless (Monterrey, CA) and Hatch touched out in 7:43.15 for the Brewers, placing 22nd overall.
