Vassar Has Strong Day Two At Liberty League Championships

Vassar ranks fourth through 20 events

Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Women's Swimming and Diving team held strong in fourth-place after Day Two of the 2024 Liberty League Championships, amassing 533.5 points through the second day of events. Addie Wiener (Maplewood, NJ) continued a strong meet with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard freestyle.

For The Brewers

After winning the 500-yard freestyle on Wednesday, Wiener picked up the team's best individual finish again on Thursday with a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle. Wiener posted a time of 1:53.18 and finished just .06 seconds of the leader's time.
First Year Anna Little (Irwin, PA) turned in a strong swim in the 400-yard individual medley, placing third overall in a time of 4:41.71. Little took off nearly four seconds from Thursday's preliminary swim.
Senior Sarah Quintana (Chandler, AZ) came home in a tie for fourth-place in the 400-yard individual medley, touching out in a time of 4:43.21.
Fellow senior Alejandra Robins (El Cerrito, CA) turned in a strong swim in the 100-yard butterfly, placing eighth overall in a time of 58.14 seconds.
Quinn Hoagland (Colts Neck, NJ) continued a strong season with an eighth-place showing for the Brewers in the 200-yard freestyle, completing the event in a time of 1:56.72.
First Year Vivien Li (Pittsburgh, PA) was the top finisher in the 'B' Final of the 100-yard butterfly, placing ninth overall in a time of 58.84 seconds.
Alanna Muello (South Windsor, CT) took the 11^th spot swimming in the 'B" Final, showing a time of 59.64 seconds.
Stephanie Norris (Santa Barbara, CA) rounded out a quartet of Brewers scoring in the 100-yard butterfly with a 15^th place finish in a time of 1:01.21.
Abigail McLaughlin (Denver, CO) swam to an 18^th place finish for the Brewers competing in the 'C' Final of the 200-yard freestyle, posting a time of 1:57.62.
Vassar began Thursday's evening session with the 'A' 200-yard freestyle relay team of Maya Luongo (Katonah, NY), Bella Rippon (Hershey, PA), McLaughlin and Wiener recording a fourth-place time of 1:37.34.
In the 400-yard medley relay Vassar's 'A' team of Quintana, Little, Robins and Wiener placed fourth in a time of 3:56.03.
The 'B" relay team of Rippon, Lara Chebotarev (East Longmeadow, MA), Li and Hoagland recorded a time of 3:58.37 swimming in the 'B' Final.
