Women's Fencing Tussles With NYU and Columbia

NEW YORK, NY - The Vassar College Women's Fencing team traveled to New York City on Wednesday evening as the Brewers battled with NYU and Columbia at the George Kolombatovich Historical Meet.

Round One - NYU 19 VC 8

Epee - VC 5 NYU 4
- First year Katrina Zeng led the Brewers to an epee squad victory with three victories while junior Naomi Hirsch and sophomore Aanya Mukherjee each added a win.
Foil - NYU 8 VC 1
- Senior Hunter Grogan earned a victory against the Violets while first year Zoe North and junior Nicole Ezell each competed in three bouts.
Sabre - NYU 6 VC 3
- Sophomores Abigail Geiger and Vanessa Mark along with junior Kira Wheeler each recorded a victory in the opening round with NYU

Round Two - COL 17 VC 10

Epee - COL 5 VC 4
- Zeng tallied two victories along with Mukherjee and Hirsch each earning a win.
Foil - VC 5 COL 4
- North and Ezell each scored two wins along with one victory from Grogan to earn a foil squad win.
Sabre - COL 8 VC 1
- Geiger earned a win for the Brewers while Mark and Wheeler each battled in three bouts.
