Brewers Post Fifth-Place Finish At Bomber Invitational

McLaughlin earns runner-up finish in 100-yard freestyle

Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Women's Swimming and Diving team wrapped up a successful weekend at the Bomber Invitational with a fifth-place finish, totaling 760.5 points over the three-day event. Abigail McLaughlin (Denver, CO) scored one of the team's six top-10 individual finishes on Sunday, taking second in the 100-yard freestyle.

McLaughlin posted her second runner-up finish in as many days, touching out second in the 100-yard freestyle event in a time of 53.15 seconds, swimming a new lifetime best in the event.
Sophomore Anna Little (Irwin, PA) rounded out a strong weekend with a fourth-place showing in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:25.74.
Maleigha Vietti (Overland Park, KS) earned a fifth-place finish for Vassar in the 500-yard freestyle, showing a time of 5:15.38.
Vivien Li (Pittsburgh, PA) took the seventh position on Sunday in the 200-yard backstroke, recording a time of 2:12.71.
Maya Luongo (Katonah, NY) took seventh-place for the Brewers on Sunday in the 100-yard freestyle. After swimming a lifetime best in the prelims earlier in the day, Luongo touched out in the finals in a time of 54.41 seconds.
Sophomore Lara Chebotarev (East Longmeadow, MA) also recorded a seventh-place for Vassar, posting a time of 2:31.21 in the 200-yard breaststroke. Chebotarev added a 16^th-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, showing a time of 2:21.49.
Lilly Masters (Bloomfield Village, MI) turned in a 17^th-place swim in the 100-yard freestyle, showing a time of 54.90 seconds.
First Year Eva D'Addario (Baltimore, MD) swam to a 19^th-place finish for the Brewers in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:41.80.
Fellow First Year Tia Spivey (Gate City, VA) scored a 22^nd-place finish for the Brewers on Sunday in the 500-yard freestyle.
The Brewers opened the meet with a pair of strong finishes in the 200-yard medley relay.
The team of Li, Chebotarev, Little and Luongo raced to a time of 1:53.41, taking the eighth position.
The second entry of Vietti, D'Addario, Spivey and Master touched out in a time of 1:59.48, placing 13th.
The quartet of McLaughlin, Vietti, Masters and Luongo closed out the meet with a time of 3:37.86 in the 400-yard freestyle relay, good for fourth-place.
The squad of Spivey, D'Addario, Chebotarev and Li placed 13^th on Sunday with a time of 3:56.23.
