Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Women's Soccer team will make its second ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament on Saturday when it travels to Newport News, VA to take on St. Mary's-Maryland in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
Ticket Information: Tickets for the weekend at Christopher Newport will be sold at a price of $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Vassar enters the NCAA Tournament with a 11-3-5 overall record following a Liberty League semifinal defeat at the hands of #T-11 William Smith. The Brewers will make their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since qualifying in 2018.
First Year
Alice Crowley (St. Louis, MO) burst onto the scene in 2024 and leads the Vassar with 12 goals, including four games winners, and 27 points.
Gianna Panarelli (Jensen Beach, FL) and
Madison Bouggess (Swedesboro, NJ) each enter the national tournament with six goals on the season.
Senior
Noelle Namba (San Francisco, CA) is tops on the team with five assists and has chipped in a pair of goals with
Jessica Bowman (Larchmont, NY) checking in with four helpers to date for the Brewers.
Riley McGrath (Coronado, CA) and
Grace Romano (Florence, NJ) support the offensive attack with four goals apiece.
Laura Shea (Swarthmore, PA) has appeared in 13 games and made nine starts in goal as a First Year and totaled 945:00 to date. Shea has recorded four shutouts and made 39 saves while working to a 0.67 goals against average and an .848 save percentage.
St. Mary's enters Saturday's contest with a 17-1-4 overall record and fell to Penn State-Harrisburg on penalty kicks in the Championship Game of United East Conference Tournament. The Seahawks are outscoring opponents 65-5 and their lone blemish on the season came in a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Randolph Macon on September 14.
The Seahawks are led by a trio of players with eight goals with Alyssa McLane and Megan Rusk totaling 18 points on the strength of eight markers and two assists. Mia McKenzie has tallied eight times while Gracie Tourangeau has scored six times.
Ashleyn Bonner, Cicely Clark, Megan Stambaugh and Flor Katz-Starr all sit atop the team leader board for St. Mary's with four assists apiece.
Kyleigh Bland has started 17 games in goal for the Seahawks and has totaled nine shutouts on 65 saves. Bland has won 12 teams and is working to a 0.26 goals against average and a .942 save percentage.
