Kansas City, MO – Three Vassar College Women's Soccer standouts added an academic honor to their resumes with Scholar All-East Region citations from the United Soccer Coaches.
Gianna Panarelli (Jensen Beach, FL) was made a First Team Scholar All-Region selection, while
Lindsey Nihei (Honolulu, HI) and
Rebecca Rodriguez (Santa Barabra, CA) each earned Second Team nods.
Panarelli adds to an impressive 2025 resume with Wednesday's honor, adding it to a Liberty League All-Academic Team selection. On the field, Panarelli was named First Team All-League, First Team All-Region III and a United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American.
Panarelli closed out the 2025 season second on the team in goals (9), points (21) and game winning goals (4). Panarelli, the only Brewer to start all 20 games, scored in five of the team's final eight games of the season, including the overtime winner in a 1-0 Liberty League Championship Semifinal victory over Ithaca.
Nihei adds Wednesday's academic honor to Liberty League All-Academic selection and a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District pick. Nihei was made a First Team All-Liberty League selection in 2025 as well as a Second Team All-Region III pick and after anchoring the backline in a pair of shutouts was named the 2025 Liberty League Championship Most Outstanding Player.
Nihei started 19 games as a senior in 2025 and was second on the team among field players in minutes played with 1,367.
Rodriguez was also a Liberty League All-Academic and College Sports Communicators All-District pick in 2025. Rodriguez picked up First Team All-Liberty League honors and was tabbed Second Team All-Region III.
Rodriguez started 19 games as a senior and led the team and the Liberty League with nine assists. Rodriguez closed out the season with 13 points after adding a pair of goals to her assist total.
Vassar finished the 2025 season with a program record 16 victories, won its first ever Liberty League Championship and made its second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
