Kansas City, MO – Vassar College junior
Gianna Panarelli (Jensen Beach, FL) picked up her second All-American award of 2025 Thursday when she was named a Second Team Scholar All-American by the United Soccer Coaches. Panarelli becomes just the second United Soccer Scholar All-American in program history and the first since Jessica Young's Third Team selection in 2022.
Panarelli lands on an All-American team for the second time in 2025 with Thursday's honor, following up a Third Team All-American honor from the United Soccer Coaches earlier this month. Panarelli adds to a resume that includes First Team All-Liberty League, First Team All-Region III and the aforementioned Third Team All-American honors.
The only Vassar player to start all 20 games in 2025, Panarelli finished second on the team in goals (9), game winning goals (4) and points (21) as a junior. Panarelli scored multiple goals in a game twice and tallied in five of the Brewers' final eight games of the season. Panarelli's fourth deciding goal of the season came in the opening minute of overtime in a 1-0 Liberty League Championship Semifinal victory against Ithaca.
Among the Liberty League leaders, Panarelli closed the season ranked third in the conference in total points and tied for third in both total goals and game winning goals.
Vassar finished the season at 16-4, setting a program record for wins in a season. The Brewers claimed their first Liberty League title in 2025 and made the program's second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
