Kansas City, MO – The Vassar College Women's Soccer Coaching Staff, headlined by Head Coach
Keith Simons, has been named the Region III Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches it was announced late Wednesday. The honor comes after the earned the same honor from the Liberty League in 2025.
Simons, who completed his fifth year as the Brewers' mentor, along with assistant coaches
Marissa Fortuna,
Sarah Dwyer-Shick and
Adam Pregno led Vassar to the finest season on record in 2025. The Brewers won their first Liberty League title, posted a program record 16 victories and made the program's second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2025.
The Brewers featured eight All-Conference selections in 2025, including
Ava Holman (St. Louis, MO), who became the program's second straight Liberty League Rookie of the Year. Seniors
Riley McGrath (Coronado, CA),
Rebecca Rodriguez (Santa Barbara, CA), Lindsey Niehi (Honolulu, HI) and junior
Gianna Panarelli (Jensen Beach, FL) all garnered First Team recognition under the tutelage of Simons and the staff in 2025.
In addition to All-League recognition, the Brewers featured four All-Region selections in 2025. Panarelli was named First Team All-Region III by the United Soccer Coaches and went on to become the program's first ever United Soccer Coaches All-American and the first All-American in general since a 2022 D3Soccer.com citation for Jessica Young.
Vassar finished the season leading the Liberty League in scoring average and scoring margin and finished the year atop the league leaderboard in goals, assists and points. The Brewers finished tied for second in the conference in goals allowed in 2025.
Vassar completed the 2025 season with a 16-4 overall record, the program's first ever Liberty League title and its third overall and second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
