Sweet Holds First Round Lead At Union Fall Invitational

Sophomore shot three-over par in Saturday’s round

Schenectady, NY – Vassar sophomore Teaen Sweet (Surprise, AZ) is the leader through 18 holes of play at the Union Fall Invitational being contested at the Mohawk Golf Club. Sweet holds a three-shot lead heading into the Second Round for the Vassar College Women's Golf team, who ranks second with a score of 340.

The Brewers are six strokes behind the host Garnet Chargers through 18 holes with Sweet four shots clear of Union's Iyene Essien.

Sweet worked around the par-73 course at the Mohawk Golf Club on Saturday in a three-over par 76 and was the only player in the field of 17 golfers to break 80 on the day.
Sophia Calvillo (Long Beach, CA) continued a strong fall campaign with an 82 on Saturday, good for a tie for fourth-place.
A third sophomore ranks eighth heading into Sunday's Second Round, with Olivia Pocat (Saratoga, CA) carding an 86 for the Brewers.
First Year Iesha DeSilva (Dayton, MD) finished with the Brewers' fourth best score on Saturday, completing the round in 96 strokes and in 12^th place.
Junior Katrina Wu (Great Neck, NY) stands in the 14^th position for Vassar after completing Saturday's competition with a 102.
Zoe Anaya (Santa Monica, CA) made her collegiate debut on Saturday and finished the day in the 16^th position.
