Rome, NY – The Vassar College Women's Golf team closed out the First Round of the Liberty League Championship Friday afternoon in sixth-place with a team score of 385. Sophomore
Iesha DeSilva (Dayton, MD) leads the way for Vassar in 20
th place through 18 holes.
NYU leads the event by 15 strokes over Wellesley, finishing day one with a three-over par score of 287. Wellesley is second (302) and is followed by Union (319), Ithaca (323), St. Lawrence (365), Vassar (385) and William Smith (443). Jiayi Fu and Shih Ting Tan from NYU are tied for the individual lead after shooting an even par 71.
For The Brewers
- DeSilva sits in the 20th-position after working around the par-71 course at the Teugega Country Club in 86 strokes. DeSilva's round featured five pars and a birdie on the par-4 11th hole.
- Junior Olivia Pocat (Saratoga, CA) ranks 21st after shooting an 88 on Friday, a round that featured three pars and a birdie on the par-5 18th hole.
- Senior Katrina Wu (Great Neck, NY) is 26th through 18 holes, carding a 98 on Friday.
- First Year Lili Proctor (Evanston, IL) sits in a tie for 29th-place for the Brewers after shooting a 113 on Friday.
