POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Vassar College Women's Fencing team was victorious at the Matt Lampell Invite on Sunday afternoon as the Brewers posted a 7-0 record to earn the first place victory. The epee squad finished with an impressive 57-6 overall record while the foil squad finished with an outstanding 56-7 record.

Round One - VC 20 HUNT 7

• Epee - VC 7 HUNT 2
  • Junior Olivia Barnes went undefeated with three wins along with first year Katrina Zeng and junior Naomi Hirsch picking up two wins.
• Foil - VC 6 HUNT 3
  • Junior Hunter Grogan, first year Zoe North and junior Nicole Ezell each recorded two victories.
• Sabre - VC 7 HUNT 2
  • Junior Kira Wheeler posted a perfect 3-0 mark while sophomores Abigail Geiger and Vanessa Mark each earned two victories.

Round Two - VC 24 RIT 3

• Epee - VC 9 RIT 0
  • Zeng, Barnes and sophomore Aanya Mukherjee all scored three victories
• Foil - VC 8 RIT 1
  • North and Ezell both posted perfect 3-0 marks along with Grogan adding two wins.
• Sabre - VC 7 RIT 2
  • Wheeler was perfect at 3-0 while Mark added two victories.
  • First year Karina Mangru scored a win in two bouts while Geiger earned a victory.

  • Barnes, Mukherjee ad Zeng all posted perfect 3-0 marks.

  • North, Grogan and Zeng each earned three victories.

  • Wheeler and Geiger each finished with two victories while Mark battled in three bouts.

  • Zeng, Barnes and Hirsch all scored two victories.

  • Grogan posted an undefeated mark at 3-0 along with North scoring two wins.
  • First year Elena Rosenmayr battled in one bout followed by Ezell winning two bouts.

  • Wheeler and Geiger both were perfect at 3-0 while Mark earned a victory.

  • Barnes and Hirsch were both perfect at 3-0 along with two victories from Mukherjee.

  • North, Grogan and Rosenmayr each picked up three wins.

  • Wheeler and Geiger each tallied three wins each while Mangru recorded two victories.
