POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Vassar College Men's and Women's Fencing teams returned to action for the final home meet in two bouts against Yale University at Walker Field House.
In round one, the men's team earned a 16-11 victory over the Bulldogs as foil led the way with seven victories. Freshman Federico La Rosa went 3-0 at foil while rookie Isaiah Kim and sophomore Brady Traugot went 2-1. Senior Conor Travaglione was undefeated at sabre while rookie Oliver Berger scored two wins along with one from sophomore Justin Lederer. Senior Jack Plumer won twice at epee along with one win from freshman Brian Li.
The women's team fell 20-7 to Yale as freshman
Sarah Boucher-Rowe went 3-0 at epee while sophomore
Naomi Hirsch tallied two wins and one win from sophomore

Abigail Geiger scored a win at sabre for the Brewers.
In round two, the women's team fell 22-5 as junior
Hunter Grogan won twice at foil along with a win apiece from sophomores
Isabel Stowe and
Nicole Ezell. Rookie
Aanya Mukherjee recorded a win at epee for Vassar.
The men's team was defeated 16-11 as freshman Ulysses Bergel, senior Sean Fisher and Kim each tallied two wins at foil. Senior Nicholas Gayle had two wins at sabre along with a win each from sophomore Noah Rudnet and senior Tian Hahn. Senior Tom Stadnikov earned the lone win at epee for the Brewers.
Vassar will head to the NEIFC Championships on Saturday at Brandeis with the meet beginning at 9:00 a.m.
