Brewers Have Strong Second Day At Bombers Invitational

Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Women's Swimming and Diving team put together a stellar middle day of the Bombers Invitational hosted by Ithaca on Saturday, rounding out the day ranked fifth out of 11 teams with 699 points. Addie Wiener (Maplewood, NJ) and Vivien Li (Pittsburgh, PA) highlighted the day with individual victories for the Brewers.

For The Brewers – Session II

Wiener scored a victory for Vassar in the 200-yard freestyle, swimming a winning time of 1:55.36.
Abigail McLaughlin (Denver, CO) placed 10^th in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.52) and Quinn Hoagland (Colts Neck, NJ) posted a lifetime best time in the event with a mark of 1:57.73.
Alejandra Robins (El Cerrito, CA) swam to a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly on Saturday, posting a time of 58.13 seconds, clipping nearly a half second off a pervious lifetime best time.
The Brewers had three swimmers in the top-10 of the 100-yard butterfly, with Li placing seventh with a season best time of 59.38 seconds and Alanna Muello (South Windsor, CT) taking ninth in 59.99 seconds, a lifetime best swim.
Stephanie Norris (Santa Barbara, CA) turned in a season best swim of 1:02.28 for the Brewers in the 100-yard butterfly.
Sarah Quintana (Chandler, AZ) took 10 seconds of a pervious season best swim in the 400-yard individual medley, placing 13^th in the event with a time of 4:47.72.
First Year Anna Little (Irwin, PA) finished just behind Quintana with a time of 4:53.15 with Maleigha Vietti (Overland Park, KS) swimming a lifetime best time of 4:57.92, good for 19^th place overall.
Vassar had a standout session in the relay events, starting with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle event. The team of Maya Luongo (Katonah, NY), Wiener, Muello and McLaughlin finished the race in a time of 1:38.17.
To close the first session of the day, Vassar swam to a fourth-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay. Quintana, Little, Robins and Wiener dropped five seconds off their previous season best time with a mark of 4:01.32. Robins split in the butterfly is a new lifetime best.

For The Brewers – Session III

Li opened the second session on Saturday in strong fashion, posting a victory in the 200-yard butterfly with a lifetime best time of 2:08.29.
Robins finished the butterfly race in the third position, swimming a season best time of 2:10.28.
Vassar had six swimmers score in the 100-yard backstroke led by a third-place finish from Quintana in a season best time of 58.54 seconds.
Hoagland closed the backstroke race in the 20^th position, touching out in lifetime best swim of 1:01.55.
Little had a strong showing in the 100-yard breaststroke on Saturday, placing eighth in a time of 1:07.80.
Lara Chebotarev (East Longmeadow, MA) turned in a lifetime best time of 1:10.11 in the 100-yard breaststroke, good for 20^th place overall.
Vassar closed out day two with a third place showing in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The team of McLaughlin, Quintana, Hoagland and Wiener all posted season best split times and finished the event with a mark of 7:52.00.
