NEW HAVEN, CT (February 4, 2012) -- The Vassar women's fencing team got a strong performance from team co-captain Brooke Schieffer with a 3-0 record in sabre competition, but lost to a strong Yale team 19-8 on Saturday afternoon.

Outstanding performers for Vassar on this day were Schieffer at 3-0 in sabre and Katie LeClair at 2-1 in foil. Both foil and sabre were 3-6 on the day.

Katharine Sweeney added one win to LeClair's two. Veronica Weser and Caitlin Clevenger each had a win in the epee for Vassar.

The Brewers drop to 16-14 on the season and will travel to Columbia in a tri-meet with New York University on February 8.
