Brewers Finish Fifth At Union Fall Invitational

Calvillo places 11th

Schenectady, NY – The Vassar College Women's Golf team rounded out play at the Union Fall Invitational on Sunday in fifth-place with a team score of 783. Junior Sophia Calvillo (Long Beach, CA) led the Brewers with an 11^th place finish over the two-day event.

Ithaca won the team event with a two-round score of 673, finishing nine strokes clear of the host Garnet Chargers. Union's Iyene Essien won medalist honors with a two-round score of 155.

For The Brewers

Calvillo improved her first-round score by seven strokes, finishing with an 85 (+12) on the par-73 course at the Mohawk Golf Club. Calvillo finished the event with a two-round score of 177.
Sophomore Iesha DeSilva (Dayton, MD) closed the event with a 91 on Sunday and finished the tournament with a score of 181, good for a 14^th place finish for the Brewers.
Katrina Wu (Great Neck, NY) shaved four strokes off of Saturday's score with a 99 on Sunday, placing 21^st for the weekend.
First Year Lili Proctor (Evanston, IL) finished the second event of the fall in the 23^rd position for the Brewers.

What's Next

Vassar heads to Hartford on September 28 for the Gillette Ridge Invitational.
