Vassar Begins Play At Hamilton Fall Invitational

Calvillo eagles ninth hole

Rome, NY – The Vassar College Women's Golf team finished play in the First Round of the Hamilton Fall Invitational on Saturday with a team score 373. Sophia Calvillo (Long Beach, CA) eagled the ninth hole for the Brewers and sits in a tie for 15th place through 18 holes.
 
Hamilton's Sydney Dweck holds the 18-hole lead after carding a 74 on Saturday, clearing a tie for second by a single stroke. Hamilton holds a one-stroke lead over it's 'B" squad with a score of 310.
 
For The Brewers
  • Calvillo finished Saturday's round with a score of 80 on Saturday on the par-72 course at the Rome Country Club. Calvillo's round was highlighted by the eagle on the 404-yard par-5 ninth hole and also featured birdies on 11 and 14.
  • Sophomore Iesha DeSilva (Dayton, MD) finished the day in 39th place after carding a 96 for the Brewers. DeSilva birdied the par-4 18th hole for the Brewers.
  • Katrina Wu (Great Neck, NY) sits in a tie for 42nd place through 18 holes after finishing Saturday's round in 98 strokes. Wu carded a birdie on the 461-yard par-5 for Vassar.
  • First Year Lili Proctor (Evanston, IL) shot a 99 on Saturday for Vassar, good for a tie for the 44th position.

  • Vassar concludes the fall season on Sunday with the Second Round at Hamilton.
