South Hadley, MA - The Vassar College Women's Fencing team put together an impressive day of action at the NEIFC Championships on Sunday as all three squads earned a third place finish or better in the team competition at Mount Holyoke. The epee squad of seniors

Danielle Golden along with sophomore
Nika Ungurianu battled to a second place overall finish. Both the foil squad and the sabre squad earned strong third place finishes.
Epee
- Pool Round #1
- Vassar scored 16 victories in pool #2 for the second-highest mark behind Sacred Heart who tallied 20 wins.
- Xie led the way with six victories along with Barnes and Golden earning five wins apiece.
- The Brewers finished third overall following the first pool round to make it to the top seven pool for round two.
- Pool Round #2
- VC earned a second place finish overall as the Brewers collected 14 victories in the second round.
- Barnes finished with five victories while Xie tallied four wins.
- Ungurianu scored three wins along with Golden adding two victories.
- VC trailed only MIT by two victories for the second place result.
Foil
- Pool Round #1
- VC collected 15 victories in pool #2 for second overall behind MIT who scored 18 wins.
- Sophomore Zoe North, first year Sushama Gadiyaram and senior Nicole Ezell each earned five victories in the round.
- Vassar ranked third overall following the opening pool round to punch its ticket to the top seven for the second round.
- Pool Round #2
- Vassar earned a third place team finish as the Brewers scored 13 victories in the final round.
- Ezell scored five victories along with North and Gadiyaram each earned four wins.
- VC finished just behind MIT (15 wins) and was tied with Brandeis but the Judges won the tiebreaker.
Sabre
- Pool Round #1
- Vassar tallied 17 victories in pool #2 for the most victories in their pool for the opening round.
- First year Lily Paine was undefeated at 7-0 while classmates Vivian Wei and Kelsey Wang scored five wins apiece.
- Vassar finished second overall following the first round to advance to the top seven pool for the final round.
- Pool Round #2
- Vassar collected a third place finish as the Brewers picked up nine victories in the final round.
- Paine scored four wins along with Wei tallying three victories and Wang picked up two wins.
- VC trailed only MIT (18) and Northeastern (11) for the third place finish.
