Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Women's Swimming and Diving team continued competition at the 2025 Liberty League Championship Friday morning with preliminary swims. Sophomore
Vivien Li (Pittsburgh, PA) turned in a strong swim and qualified second in the 200-yard butterfly for the Brewers.
Li won her preliminary heat Friday morning in a time of 2:09.41, a time that was second quickest in Friday morning's session. First Year
Eva D'Addario (Baltimore, MD) also swam through the finals and will compete in the 'C' final after posting a time season-best time of 2:23.77 Friday morning.
Four swimmers qualified for the finals Friday evening in the 100-yard breaststroke. Sophomore
Anna Little (Irwin, PA) led the way and will compete in the 'A' final after qualifying eighth with a time of 1:07.59, a season-best time in the event.
Sophomore
Lara Chebotarev (East Longmeadow, MA) will swim in the 'B' final after posting the 10
th fastest qualifying time, and a lifetime best, with a mark of 1:08.36. Both
Stephanie Norris (Santa Barbara, CA) and First Year
Sophie Tran (Hillsborough, NJ) will compete in the 'C' final after touching out in times of 1:14.85 and 1:15.36, respectively. Norris' swim marked a season-best time, while Tran swam a lifetime best time on Friday.
Two relays were in action Friday morning, with the 200-yard medley squad of
Maya Luongo (Katonah, NY), Little, Li and
Abigail McLaughlin (Denver, CO) qualifying third with a time of 1:50.02.
Vassar's B entry in the 800-yard freestyle relay of Little, Li,
Tia Spivey (Gate City, VA) and Norris posted a time of 8:22.38 Friday morning. 'A' heats of the event will take place during Friday's final session.
Final swims on Friday will get underway at 6:00 p.m.
