Ithaca, NY – Vassar College junior
Addie Wiener (Maplewood, NJ) was victorious in the 500-yard freestyle for the third straight year at the Liberty League Championship on Wednesday and the Brewers finished the first day of events at the meet in fifth place with 119 points.
Through events on Wednesday, Ithaca is atop the team leaderboard with 349 points and is followed by RPI (307), RIT (260), Skidmore (188), Vassar (119), St. Lawrence (113), Clarkson (107), William Smith (60) and Union (27).
For The Brewers
- Wiener claimed the 2025 Liberty League crown in the 500-yard freestyle with a winning time of 5:06.03, topping the field by better than a second on Wednesday and improving her preliminary time by over four seconds.
- Classmate Quinn Hoagland (Colts Neck, NJ) also turned in a strong swim in the 500-yard freestyle, coming home in eighth-place with a time of 5:13.35.
- Abigail McLaughlin (Denver, CO) posted a fifth-place finish for Vassar on Wednesday in the 50-yard freestyle, touching out in a time of 24.22 seconds.
- Senior Maya Luongo (Katonah, NY) also swam in the 'A' final for the Brewers and placed seventh after recording a finals time of 24.76 seconds.
- Sophomore Lara Chebotarev (East Longmeadow, MA) finished the 200-yard individual medley in the 19th position with a time of 2:16.76, shaving nearly three seconds off of Wednesday's preliminary time.
- Stephanie Norris (Santa Barbara, CA) came home 20th in the 200-yard individual medley, posting a time of 2:17.42 also improving Wednesday's preliminary time by almost three seconds.
- In the final event of the evening, the 400-yard medley relay team of Norris, Chebotarev, Eva D'Addario (Baltimore, MD) and Wiener swam to a time of 4:16.80.
