Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Men's Swimming and Diving team set a pair of school records in Wednesday's final session of the 2025 Liberty League Championship with the 400-yard medley relay team and sophomore
Lucas Jauregui (Barrington, RI) setting new school standards. Following the first day of events, the Brewers rank sixth with a total of 110 points.
The host Bombers lead the team event though Wednesday's events with 461 points followed by RIT (425), RPI (290), Skidmore (206), Clarkson (169), Vassar (110), Union (80), Bard (45), Hobart (44) and St. Lawrence (7).
For The Brewers
- The 400-yard medley relay team highlighted Wednesday's evening session with the team of Jauregui, John Gao (Ann Arbor, MI), Mike Seaton (Hoboken, NJ) and Hayden Ehrenfeld (Long Beach, CA) swimming a new school record time of 3:28.52, good for sixth-place overall.
- The team's time topped the previous mark of 3:30.11 set at last year's league championship.
- Jauregui broke his own school record in the 100-yard backstroke in the lead leg of the relay. Jauregui posted a time of 50.13 seconds, clipping his previous mark of 50.27.
- Ehrenfeld, who set the new school record in the 50-yard freestyle in Wednesday's preliminary session, placed eighth in the event in the finals. Ehrenfeld posted a time of 21.41 in the 'A' final, good for eighth-place.
- Jauregui added a top-10 finish for the Brewers in the 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 21.39 seconds swimming in the 'B' final.
- Seaton joined Jauregui in the 'B' final and placed 16th overall after swimming a finals time of 21.87 seconds.
- First Year Eli House (Oneonta, NY) came home 22nd overall in the 50-yard freestyle, touching out in a time of 22.22 seconds while competing in the 'C' final.
- Gao was Vassar's top finisher in the 200-yard individual medley, taking the 20th position overall in a time of 2:00.36.
- First Year Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA) turned in a time of 2:02.72 in the 200-yard individual medley, good for the 21st position overall.

- Vassar continues the 2025 Liberty League Championship on Thursday with preliminary swims beginning at 10:00 a.m.
