MANAHAWKIN, NJ – After earning 13 student-athletes named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic Squad, Vassar College senior
Alexa Gwyn was honored as a 2024 NFHCA Division III Scholar of Distinction.
Gwyn was honored as a Scholar of Distinction for the fourth consecutive year along with earning her first All-Liberty League Second Team honors this season as the senior finished tied for the team lead in assists with four. Gwyn recorded her first career defensive save against Montclair State on September 11 and ranked tied for fifth on the squad in points. Gwyn closes her Vassar career being named to the Liberty League All-Academic team three times.
The NFHCA proudly honors more than 550 outstanding undergraduate student-athletes from more than 135 institutions who have achieved recognition as 2024 Division III Scholars of Distinction. This program acknowledges exceptional undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.
Impressively, 100 honorees earned this distinction for the fourth consecutive year.
