Women’s Soccer Sees Six Selected As College Sports Communicators Academic All-District

Brewers posted most wins in a season; first league crown in 2025

Greenwood, IN – The Vassar College Women's Soccer team, following the most successful season in program history, saw six student-athletes named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday. Lily Brigman (Mebane, NC), Lucy Hart (Portland, ME), Riley McGrath (Coronado, CA), Lindsey Nihei (Honolulu, HI), Rebecca Rodriguez (Santa Barabara, CA) and Laura Shea (Swarthmore, PA) have all been honored for excelling both on the field and in the classroom.
 
Brigman, a senior defender and Biochemistry major, appeared in 20 games and made 15 starts for the Brewers in 2025. Brigman logged just under 1,200 minutes for Vassar as a senior captain and closed the year with an assist and four shots.
 
Hart was a mainstay for the Brewers in the midfield in 2025, appearing in 20 games and making 18 starts. Hart was third on the team among field players with 1,333 minutes and closed the campaign with five points on the strength of two goals and one assist. Hart potted the game winning goal against Western Connecticut on September 10.
 
McGrath, a senior captain and Political Science and Educational Studies major, was a First Team All-Liberty League selection in 2025. McGrath appeared in 20 games and made 18 starts for the Brewers as a senior and closed the year fourth on the team in goals (6) and points (16) and tied for second in assists (4). Among the league leaders, McGrath ranked tied for ninth in total goals and tied for seventh in total points.
 
Nihei, a senior captain a Biochemistry major, helped anchor the Vassar backline in 2025. A First Team All-Liberty League selection, Nihei was second among field players on the team in 2025 in minutes played with 1,367. After helping Vassar to a pair of shutouts in the Liberty League Championship, Nihei was tabbed the event's Most Outstanding Performer.
 
Rodriguez, also a senior captain and a Latin American Studies major, earned All-Conference recognition for the third time in 2025 and a First Team nod for the first time. Rodriguez led the Brewers and the Liberty League in assists with nine and closed the season with 13 points after adding a pair of goals. Rodriguez tallied the game winning goal in Vassar's 2-0 win over Union on October 8.
 
Shea, a sophomore Biochemistry (Pre-Med), major, had a second standout season in goal for the Brewers and earned Third Team All-Liberty League honors. Shea started 19 games between the pipes for the Brewers, logging 1,598:52 of a possible 1,800:40 in 2025. Shea turned aside 60 shots for Vassar on the season while working to an .822 save percentage and a 0.73 goals against average. Shea, who totaled seven shutouts, finished the year ranked third in the conference in goals against average and total shutouts and fifth in save percentage.
 
Vassar closed the 2025 season with a program record 16 victories, won its first ever Liberty League title and made its second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
