Vassar Finishes Sixth At Bomber Invitational

Jauregui places third in 100-yard butterfly

Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Men's Swimming and Diving team closed out competition at the Bomber Invitational hosted by Ithaca on Sunday in sixth-place, totaling 769 points. Lucas Jauregui (Barrington, RI) recorded the team's best individual showing on the day with a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly.

For The Brewers

Juaregui finished off a strong weekend for the Brewers with a time of 51.46 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly, good for the third position overall.
First Year Mike Seaton (Hoboken, NJ) turned in a seventh-place swim in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.33 seconds and added a 24^th-place swim for the Brewers in the 100-yard freestyle.
Fellow First Year Andrew Song (Wellesley, MA) produced a 10^th-place swim in the 200-yard backstroke on Sunday in a time of 1:59.64.
Eli House (Oneonta, NY) swam to an 11^th-place finish for the Brewers in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:15.67.
John Gao also recorded an 11^th-place swim for Vassar, posting a time of 2:01.82 in the 200-yard individual medley.
Senior Hayden Ehrenfeld (Long Beach, CA) placed 14^th on Sunday in the 100-yard freestyle in 48.49 seconds.
James Hatch (Los Altos, CA) closed out a strong meet with a 14^th-place swim in the 200-yard backstroke (2:05.96) and a 19^th-place showing in the 200-yard individual medley (2:08.39).
Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA) took the 14^th position in the 200-yard individual medley (2:05.28) and added a 16^th-place swim in the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.47).
Matthew Short (Scituate, MA) placed 19^th on Sunday in the 100-yard butterfly (58.72) and 22^nd in the 200-yard individual medley.
Jacob Collette (Milford, CT) posted a 21^st-place finish for Vassar in the 500-yard freestyle.
Daniel Furman (Secaucus, NJ) finished 23^rd in the 500-yard freestyle and 19^th in the 200-yard backstroke.
Croix Horsley (Cinnaminson, NJ) and Noah Rich (Dover, NH) scored 18^th-place finishes for the Brewers in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard breaststroke, respectively.
Laszlo Lawless (Monterey, CA) and Ben Kaplan (Brookline, MA) finished 22^nd and 24^th in the 100-yard butterfly.
Tyler Tsukuda (Rancho Cucamunga, CA) swam to an 18^th-place finish for the Brewers in the 200-yard backstroke.
The top 200-yard medley entry took the fourth position on Sunday with the team of Jauregui, Gao, Seaton and Ehrenfeld posting a time of 1:34.80.
The second entry took 12^th-place in the event with Song, House, Hatch and Horsley touching out in a time of 1:41.89.
In the final event of the weekend, the team of Ehrenfeld, Gao, Seaton and Jauregui finished seventh in 3:13.43 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
The team of Furman, Horsley, Collette and Song closed the meet in 12^th-place with a time of 3:22.22.

What's Next

Sunday's competition rounds out the 2024 portion of the schedule for the Brewers. Vassar returns to action at home on January 13 against Trinity (CT).
