TROY, NY – The Liberty League has announced its weekly honorees in women's soccer and Vassar student-athlete
Teresa Zimmer was recognized. The junior goalkeeper was named the league's Defensive Performer of the Week after backstopping the Brewers to a 2-0-0 mark.
Zimmer helped the Brewers to an undefeated week with shutout victories against Western Connecticut State and Oneonta State. In a 2-0 win over the Colonials, she posted two saves in 90 minutes for the team's second win of the year. Zimmer then made one save in a 1-0 shutout of the Red Dragons on the road on Saturday.
The team's starter in all six contests, Zimmer boasts a 3-2-1 overall mark. In addition to a 0.50 goals against average, she owns a .786 save percentage. Facing 40 shots, Zimmer has recorded 11 stops thus far with three goals allowed.
Amongst the Liberty League leaders, Zimmer ranks second in shutouts per game (.667) with four total this season. She is also seventh in goals against average and 10th in both saves and saves per game (1.83).
The Brewers (3-2-1) return to action on Tuesday, traveling to Middletown, CT for a 7pm tilt at Wesleyan University.
