MIDDLEFIELD, CT - The Vassar women's golf team wrapped up action at the 2022 Wesleyan Fall Invitational on Sunday at the Lyman Orchards-Robert Trent Jones Course. The Brewers finished seventh overall at the event with a combined team score of 782 (394-388).
Bates earned the victory with a combined score of 656 (330-326). the host Cardinals took second overall with a score of 669 (337-332), while Wellesley placed third with a score of 672 (339-333).
Junior
Sufana Noorwez paced Vassar's effort, improving five positions from day one to finish in a tie for seventh overall. After posting an 85 in Round 1, Noorwez had an 82 in the Final Round for a total score of 167.
Rookie
Peiyun Wu was 31st overall, finishing with a score of 192 (95-97), while sophomore
Hannah Levine was 33rd, up two spots from Saturday with a score of 194 (101-93).
Mackenzie Shultz, another Brewers freshman, was 39th overall with a score of 229 (113-116), while sophomore
Victoria Barrios Cabral was 40th after two days with a mark of 250 (122-128).
Bates' Ruby Haylock was the overall event winner on the weekend, posting a score of 153 (79-74) for medalist honors.
Vassar returns to action next weekend, traveling to Williamstown, MA for the Williams College Fall Invitational at Taconic Golf Course. Action begins on Saturday and runs through Sunday.
