NEW HAVEN, CT – The Vassar women's fencing team fell 1-26 to Yale on Saturday morning. Both epee and sabre went 0-9, while foil was 1-8. Freshman
Jenna Waibel (Pompton Lakes, NJ) posted the lone Vassar win at foil.
At foil, sophomore
Zoe Tolbert (Olympia, WA) lost in close bouts, going 3-5, 4-5, and 5-1. Waibel struggled in her first two matches, but won 4-3 in the final bout. The sabre trio of
Rose Parker (Westfield, NJ),
Jenna Hutchinson (Omaha, NE), and
Barsha Saha (Elmhurst, NY) fought hard, but could not avoid the sweep.
Rosie Parker (Portland, OR),
Carter Mucha (Brookline, MA), and
Chloe Chinnadurai (Denville, NJ) comprised the epee squad and were also swept by Yale.
Vassar is back in action next weekend for the NFC Multimeet #3 held at Tufts on Sat. Feb. 9 at 10 a.m.
