FAIRFIELD, CT – The Vassar women's fencing team faced six schools in Sunday's Sacred Heart Traditional Multi-Meet, but was unable to pick a win against a field of mainly Division I schools. A 14-match win streak comes to an end following the day.

The Brewers opened against a tough Harvard team and fell 3-24. Sacred Heart was next with the Pioneers capturing an 11-16 victory. Vassar took on Penn State in the round, but fell 3-24. The Brewers almost upset NYU, but were edged 13-14. In that match, the epee squad went a notable 8-1, with foil going 5-4. Things wrapped up with a 6-21 to Princeton and a 1-26 loss to Temple.

Individually,
Mirit Rutishauser (New York, NY) led the Brewers with a 6-9 record in the foil event. She was 3-0 against Sacred Heart and 2-1 over NYU. In epee's 8-1 victory over NYU,
Rose Hulsey-Vincent (Woodinville,WA) and
Chloe Chinnadurai (Westford, MA) both went 2-1.
Rosie Parker (Portland, OR) also picked up a 2-1 victory.

The Brewers now have a long break, but return to action on Sun. Jan. 20 to host the January Invitational at Walker Field House. Â
