POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Vassar women's fencing team rolled to the Matt Lampell Hudson River Invitational title following an unbeaten Sunday at Walker Field House. The Brewers opened pool play going 4-0 against CCNY (23-4), Vassar "B" (25-2), West Point (18-9) and TCNJ (24-3). Then in the championship bracket, Vassar downed Yeshiva (9-1), Florida (14-1) and Drew (14-10) to stay 14-0 this season.

The Brewers featured a balanced field, going 32-19 in sabre, 47-8 in foil and 48-3 in epee. Sabre was highlighted by
Rose Parker (Westfield, NJ),
Nicoletta Dinelli (Talent, OR),
Jenna Hutchinson (Omaha, NE) and
Barsha Saha (Elmhurst, NY). Parker led going 11-2, while Dinelli tacked on 9 wins for Vassar.

Sophie Blumenstock (St. Paul, MN),
Vera Jin (Tianjin, China),
Mirit Rutishauser (New York, NY),
Tori Lubin (Westport, CT) and
Zoe Tolbert (Olympia, WA) rounded out the foil squad. Rutishauser picked up the most wins going 13-1, while Blumenstock tallied a 12-4 record. Tolbert went undefeated, going 7-0. Lubin and Jin picked up five and two wins, respectively.

Three fencers in
Rose Hulsey-Vincent (Woodinville, WA),
Chloe Chinnadurai (Denville, NJ) and
Rosie Parker (Portland, OR) led the epee field. Both Hulsey-Vincent and Parker had stellar days by going undefeated. Hulsey-Vincent went 15-0, while Parker was 16-0. Chinnadurai had a notable performance as well with a 15-3 record.
