What To Look ForThe women's team is looking to come out of Sunday's Championship matches with some wins after falling to both NYU and Columbia University on Wednesday. Right now the Brewers have an overall record of 21-83, 7-5 in conference play and sporting a percentage of .512. The Brewers will be looking to break their two game loosing streak this Sunday.
A Look At The BrewersFoiling the rest! Sophomore Kristen Denman (Yellow Springs, OH/Yellow Springs) hopes to continue her recent success as she comes off a three-win streak into this weekend. She, along with freshmen
Mirit Rutishauser (New York, NY/La Guardia Schools of Music and Art) and
Sophie Blumenstock (St. Paul, MN/Nova Classical Academy) have been a sensational trio in the past week, earning significant wins last Saturday at the Northeast Fencing Conference.
No success without failure!Although the Brewers struggled to earn victories in this Wednesday's match-ups against NYU and Colombia, the Brewers look to maintain some momentum from their recent bouts last Saturday at the NFC. There, the Brewer women went to earn 5 straight wins against a number of top ranked opponents including Dartmouth College and Boston University
Triumphant youths! This year's incoming class has had a strong boost to the program, recently earning the Brewers five wins in Wednesday's visit to the Big Apple and helped lead the squad to their decisive victories at the NFC.
Seasoned Veterans!Not to be outdone by their younger teammates, the upperclassmen have continued to show how Vassar has helped hone their skills. Senior
Lily Elbaum (Troy, NY/Ottumwa) helped grab seven wins at the NFC last Saturday while Junior
Olivia Weiss Recorded 15 wins that same afternoon. On Wednesday, Senior
Amreen Bhasin (Riverdale, NJ/Cresskill) defeated Marissa Posner in a thrilling 5-4 bout and fellow Senior Rachel Messbaur (Springfield, MA/MacDuffie School) chalked up one of the few wins against Colombia on the Brewers' trek to NYC.
A Look At The EWFC Championship TeamsThe City College of New York Beavers women bested Hunter College, Queens College, and Army at the Invitational in mid January. The last time the Beavers and Brewers met result in a 20-7 win for the Beavers back in November.
The Yeshiva Maccabees are having a tough time this season sporting an overall record of 1-21. This weekend the Maccabees are hoping to break their 12 match-losing streak.
This 2015-2016 season the Hunter College Hawks are sporting a 3-24 overall record. At the Fairleigh Dickinson Invitational the Hawks went 2-5.
The Johns Hopkins Blue Jays are sporting are 6-8 record this season, coming off a 4-0 afternoon on January 31
st.
The Haverford Fords are coming off a nice win against NJIT with a score of 15-12.
The Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks are coming off a strong 7 match win streak to add to their overall 18-5 record.
