Last Time Out

A Look at the Golden Knights (6-7, 3-3 Liberty League)
Clarkson enters Saturday's game fresh off a loss to St. Lawrence on April 22, falling 8-6 to the Saints in Canton, NY. The loss still puts the Golden Knights in contention for the Liberty League playoffs, but they will need a win against the Brewers to solidify their spot as the No. 4 seed. The game marks the final matchup for Clarkson on the regular season, as the team currently stands at 6-7 overall and 3-3 in the Liberty League.

Clarkson has been effective on faceoffs this season, winning 55.3% ranking second in the conference. The Golden Knights have also been cautious with possession committing only 14.42 per game this season, which ranks seventh in the country. Ryan St. Croix leads the Clarkson attack with 32 points on 26 goals and six assists, while Corey Herrington has a team high 17 assists this season. Dylan Broomfield has taken nearly every faceoff for the Golden Knights this season, winning 142 of 254 for a 55.9% clip. Nick Strandholm ha started in goal every game for Clarkson, holding an 8.05 GAA and .586 save percentage.

Against Clarkson All-Time
Vassar is 0-14 in the all-time series with the Golden Knights, with the closest game occurring back on April 3, 2011 when Clarkson edged VC 9-8 in overtime.

One More Time
It was announced this week that the Vassar men's lacrosse team will make up its previously postponed game with Swarthmore College from March. The Brewers will now close out the season against the Garnet in Swarthmore, PA on Wednesday, April 29 at 7 pm.

Going for History
Vassar will have an opportunity to make history in its next two games, as one more win will set a new program record for wins in a season. VC has already tied the school record with six wins this season.

Breadwinners
Junior Noah Parsons (Cary, NC/Panther Creek) and sophomore Liam Moriarty (New Fairfield, CT/ New Fairfield) have combined for 54 goals this season for the Brewers, which makes up 36.7% of the team's scoring offense in 2015.

Season of Goals
Noah Parson has now tied his previous season-best mark of 31 goals after finishing with two more against Union. Parson is now just two goals away from tying the Vassar single season record of 33 goals set by James Wilson ('99) back in 1999. Parson is also now third all-time in career goals (81) passing Thomas Board ('04) on the all-time list last weekend. Next on the list will be Pa McAlphine ('04) who finished with 84 career strikes.

Man-Up for It
Noah Parson now stands alone in the all-time ranks in man-up goals, scoring the 14th of his career last weekend against Union. Parson was previously tied with Jack Gross ('12) on the career list with 13.

3-for-30
Three different Brewers have surpassed 30 points this season, including Noah Parson (31 G, 8 A), Liam Moriarty (23 G, 10 A) and Sam Houston-Read (15 G, 16 A). Scott Brekne is a prime candidate to reach the mark as well, coming into Saturday's game with 28 points on the season (19 G, 9 A). Sean Brazier (26) and Chris Billups (24) could also hit 30 points in the team's final two games.

Into the Top 10
Sophomore Austin Haymes (Palm Beach Gardens, FL/William T Dwyer) cracked into the top ten single season list for caused turnovers at Vassar last week, now with 17 on the year. Haymes is now tied for seventh with Jeremy Gottlieb ('12) and teammate Eric Prezioso on the season list.

The Opposition
Vassar has played the 109th toughest schedule in Division III lacrosse based on opponents' records, as teams Vassar have played this season have combined to go 80-76. Included in that mix was five nationally ranked teams.

Leading Men
Only seven teams have held lead on RIT this season, ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation in the latest USILA Coaches Poll. Of those seven teams, Vassar has held the second longest lead over the Tigers at 8:30 after the Brewers went up 2-1 in the first quarter on April 11. Vassar is the only team to not be nationally ranked at any point this season to hold a lead on the Tigers.
