Twitter Coverage: @VassarSwimDive Last Time Out: The Vassar men's swimming team picked up its second dual meet victory of the season Saturday afternoon, claiming nine event victories to best Skidmore 155-131.Last Meeting: NYU topped Vassar 204-62 when the teams met last season on November 1.
Meet Format: Vassar will compete head-to-head against NYU in 16 events.
A Look at the Violets (5-0): NYU has gotten off to a great start in 2015, winning all five of their dual meets and a tri-meet vs. New Paltz and Stevens on November 6. The Violets are coming off a fantastic season in 2014-15, where the team finished ninth at the NCAA Championships and third in the highly competitive University Athletic Association.
NYU came from behind to beat TCNJ 151-147 in their last meet on November 14. The Violets were facing a deficit heading into the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay.. However, the foursome of current senior Win Htet Oo and sophomores Tim Kou, Joe Baron, and Chad Moody finished in a time of 3:06.01, narrowly defeating TCNJ's national championship-winning relay team (3:06.31).
On the Fly: Junior
Anthony Walker (Madison, WI/ James Madison Memorial) has yet to lose a race in the 200 butterfly this season. Several strong NYU butterfly swimmers will test him this weekend in the event, however, including Michael Lanz, who currently ranks inside the top-10 nationally.
Next Up: Vassar will swim its final meet of the fall season December 4-5 when the team travels to Troy, NY for the Liberty League Championships.
