Brewers Rank Fourth Following First Day Of Bomber Invitational

200-yard freestyle relay team places third

Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Men's Swimming and Diving team wrapped up the first day of the 2025 Bomber Invitational in fourth place on Thursday with a team score of 251 points. The 200-yard freestyle relay team posted the best finish of the final session for Vassar with a third-place showing.

Vassar had a strong showing in both relay events contested Thursday evening with the 200-yard freestyle team of Eli House (Oneonta, NY), John Gao (Ann Arbor, MI), Sam Deluca (Mifflinburg, PA) and Lucas Jauregui (Barrington, RI) swimming to a third-place finish with a time of 1:26.84.
The 400-yard medley relay team of Jauregui, Kieran Lakhan (Kensington, MD), Deluca and House finished the night with a fourth-place swim in a time of 3:31.59.
The Brewers second entry in each relay event also posted top-10 finishes on Thursday.
Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA), James Hatch (Los Altos, CA), Vuk Usina (Tallahassee, FL) and Daniel Wang (Carlisle, MA) touched out ninth in the 200-yard freestyle race in 1:32.90.
The second 400-yard medley team of Seiss, Ricky Kurosawa (Las Vegas, NV), Elam Estella (Colorado Springs, CO) and Wang placed 10^th overall in a time of 3:44.01.
Individually, Jauregui posted the team's best individual finish of the night, placing 12^th swimming in the 'B' final of the 50-yard freestyle. Jauregui improved his prelim season best time of 21.90 seconds in the final, touching out in 21.73 seconds.
Deluca improved Thursday's prelim lifetime best in the 50-yard freestyle on Thursday night, placing 17^th overall in a time of 22.06 seconds.
Wang also improved a season best time in the 50-yard freestyle in Thursday's final, placing 24^th overall in a time of 23.08 seconds.
House and Gao also turned in strong 50-yard freestyle swims in the final session, placing 19^th and 22^nd in times of 22.21 and 22.54 seconds, respectively.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Jack Powers (Amherst, NY) placed 15^th overall for Vassar, improving his season best time to 4:55.45 in the finals.
Robin Auwaerter (Syracuse, NY) shaved more than two seconds off his prelim season best in the event by swimming 5:14.24 in the final session.
Alex Graber (Harrison, NY) also improved a season best in the 500-yard freestyle, posting a time of 5:14.62 in the finals.
Vassar also saw two more season best swims in the 200-yard IM Thursday night.
Seiss placed 15^th overall, taking just over three seconds off his season best time from Thursday morning with a time of 2:01.70.
First Year Sebastian Chang-Leung (Silver Spring, MD) posted a season best swim in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:13.04 in the finals.

What's Next

The Brewers continue competition at the Bomber Invitational Friday morning with preliminary swims beginning at 9:00 a.m.
