Brewers Have Strong Start To 2025 Bomber Invitational

DeLuca swims lifetime best in 50-yard freestyle

Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Men's Swimming and Diving team opened the 2025 Bomber Invitational Thursday morning with 10 Brewers qualifying for the finals session across three events. Senior Sam Deluca (Mifflinburg, PA) posted a lifetime best swim for Vassar in the 50-yard freestyle.

For The Brewers

Deluca was one of five Brewers to qualify for finals on Thursday after posting a lifetime best time of 22.38 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle.
Junior Lucas Jauregui (Barrington, RI) was Vassar's top qualifier in the event with a season best time of 21.90 seconds.
Sophomore Eli House (Oneonta, NY) earned a trip back for finals on Thursday with a season best time of 22.06 seconds.
Classmate John Gao (Ann Arbor, MI) qualified for the Brewers after touching out in a time of 22.51 seconds.
Rounding out the qualifiers for the Brewers in the 50-yard freestyle is Daniel Wang (Carlisle, MA) who swam a time of 23.10 seconds in Thursday's prelims.
Vassar features a pair of swimmers to qualify for finals in the 200-yard individual medley, led by Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA) who swam a season best time of 2:04.77.
First Year Sebastian Chang-Leung (Silver Spring, MD) is also back Thursday night for the finals session after touching out in a season best time of 2:14.05.
A trio of Brewers will return to the water Thursday night in the 500-yard freestyle.
First Year Jack Powers (Amherst, NY) shaved six seconds off his previous season best in the event, posting a time of 4:56.02 Thursday morning.
Alex Graber (Harrison, NY) also posted a season best swim for Vassar after touching out in a time of 5:14.76.
Robin Auwaerter (Syracuse, NY) will be back in action Thursday night after posting a season best time of 5:16.03 for the Brewers.

What's Next

Finals on Thursday are set to get underway at 6:00 p.m.
