Jacqueline Kory back in the lineup following JYA, the Brewers were more than respectable despite a 17-10 loss.
The loss drops Vassar to 6-10 on the season with a big Saturday of competition ahead at Boston College facing Brandeis, Brown, Smith, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and host Boston College.
In Vassar's first match since November 29, the Brewers received solid performances from Carlsen who was 2-1 in the sabre, freshman
Katie LeClair (2-1 in the foil), freshman
Caitlin Clevenger (2-1 in the epee) and junior
Sophie Courser, who was also 2-1 in the epee.
Behind what head coach
Bruce Gillman called “great performances,” by Courser and Clevenger, the epee squad narrowly lost 5-4
Foil lost 6-3 with LeClair leading the way at 2-1 and Kory adding one victory.
Carlsen and freshman
Brooke Schieffer had two victories each, although Sabre lost 6-3.
