POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (January 27, 2009) – In a dual meet that could not get much closer, the Montclair State University men's swim-dive team squeaked past Vassar College, 122-118, on Tuesday evening at Kresge Pool. Vassar freshman diver
Greg Sullivan (Cranbury, NJ/Peddie School) highlighted the evening with a record-breaking performance in the 1 Meter diving event, setting a new school record of 269.60 points for six rounds, and 448.30 for 11 rounds. Sullivan also notched an NCAA qualifying score and needs just one more qualifying score to compete in the NCAA Championships in March.
“Getting that first qualifying score gives Greg the confidence he needs and now he has three more meets to try and get that second qualifier,” said head coach
Lisl Prater-Lee. “Having one puts it all in perspective and makes the goal seem more realistic.”
