Hilton, NY - The United Volleyballl Conference (UVC) announced its weekly award winners for the week ending March 29 as Vassar College Men's Volleyball sophomore
Henry Bonney was named the league's Co-Player of the Week. This is the second weekly honor for Bonney this season.
Vassar reeled off two straight conference sweeps this weekend over Nazareth and St. John Fisher as the Brewers have won six straight matches. Bonney led the way with 19 kills (.432), nine total blocks (one solo) and five digs in the two victories. In the sweep of the Golden Flyers, Bonney tallied 11 kills (.526), three blocks and two digs followed by eight kills (.333), six blocks (one solo) and three digs in the three-set win over the Golden Flyers.Â
Bonney is second on the team in kills with 178 and leads the team in kills per set with 33.36 while hitting .370 on the season. In the 14 matches the sophomore has appeared in this season, Bonney has buried double-digit kills in 11 matches, including a career-best 21 kills in a five-set match against #1 Springfield. Bonney also sits third on the team in total blocks with 37.
Vassar (15-8, 3-3 UVC) plays host to NYU in its final conference match of the season on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in Kenyon Hall.
