Hanrahan Sets Hammer Throw School Record to Lead Vassar to Third Place Finish at Coast Guard

First year records mark of 39.06 meters for second place finish

New London, CT - First year Amanda Hanrahan set the school record mark in the hammer throw while sophomore Adelaide Nyhan, junior Jahmilia Dennis, sophomore Acadia Helfand and junior Sydney Petrie earning first place finishes to lead the Vassar College Women's Track and Field team to a third place finish at the CGA Spring Invitational.

100 Meters
  • Junior Jamie Eu scored a 10th place finish with a time of 13.38 along with first year Mason Wilkins-Lanier finishing 21st in a season-best 13.70.
  • Senior Lily Falkowski collected a top-30 finish with a mark of 14.21.
100 Meter Hurdles
  • Junior Freja Niklasson raced to a third place finish with a time of 17.06.
400 Meters
  • First year Skylar Spiro tallied a 12th place finish in 1:04.10.
400 Meter Hurdles
  • Niklasson secured a fifth place finish with a time of 1:12.72 along with first year Lianna Camille crossing the finish line in 10th place in 1:17.90.
800 Meters
  • Nyhan scored a first place finish with a personal-best time of 2:17.41 followed by sophomore Norah Reade in fourth place with a time of 2:20.60.
  • First year Lizzie Lowe finished fifth overall with a season-best time of 2:20.85 along with classmate Sarah France in sixth with a season-best mark of 2:25.19.
1500 Meters
  • Senior Sophia Henderson finished 15th overall with a time of 4:59.10 while classmate Noni Pattington scoring a 18th place finish in 5:03.50.
  • Sophomore Cayley Swaim earned a 23rd place finish in 5:05.95 followed closely by first year Chloe Bibula in 25th with a season-best time of 5:06.47.
  • First year Hadley Snell tallied a top-40 finish with a season-best mark of 5:14.59 along with classmate Sophia Marchioli finishing with a season-best time of 5:15.46.
  • Senior Sophie Farr closed the Vassar finishers with a time of 5:36.37.
3000 Meters Steeplechase
  • Helfand dominated the race, earning a first place finish in a personal-best time of 11:42.72 and defeating the next closest finisher by over a minute.
Discus Throw
  • Petrie collected a first place finish with a throw of 37.32 meters while junior Abbe Colgan finished seventh with a toss of 27.72 meters.
  • First year Meara Morgan finished 14th with a mark of 25.24 meters and junior Ava Gurley competed for the Brewers.
Hammer Throw
  • Hanrahan set the school record mark with a toss of 39.06 meters, topping the previous record by nine meters, for a second place finish.
  • Junior Kolby Davis finished 22nd overall with a career-best mark of 24.99 meters.
High Jump
  • Colgan tallied a seventh place finish with a height of 1.36 meters and first year Elana Pukel scored a ninth place finish at 1.31 meters.
  • Sophomore Jillian Benfante also recorded a mark of 1.31 meters.
Javelin Throw
  • Pukel registered a second place finish with a throw of 30.62 meters and Morgan recorded a 19th place finish with a mark of 22.92 meters.
  • Petrie collected a mark of 21.34 meters for a top-25 finish.
Long Jump
  • Senior Faye Stevens scored a fourth place finish with a leap of 4.90 meters.
  • Eu tallied a ninth place finish with a mark of 4.72 meters along with junior Sydney Passley-Harris finishing 11th at 4.63 meters.
  • Pukel finished 13th overall with a leap of 4.55 meters.
Shot Put
  • Hanrahan garnered a seventh place finish with a mark of 9.93 meters while Davis finished ninth with a personal-best throw of 9.83 meters.
  • Petrie earned a 14th place finish with a toss of 9.18 meters along with Gurley finishing 21st at a career-best 8.14 meters.
Triple Jump
  • Dennis took home a first place finish with a top leap of 11.16 meters followed by Camille in 10th at 9.47 meters.

  • Vassar will head to the RPI Under the Lights Invite on Thursday.
