Shea Fitzgerald and sophomore
Sebastian Medina were all recognized for their accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom.
Denham recorded his best season as a Brewer in 2024-25 as he posted 9.9 points per game, ranking third on the squad, and led the team in rebounding with 6.5 per game along with leading the squad in steals with 50 and blocks with 25. Denham scored a career-high 21 points in a victory over RIT on February 14 and posted two double-doubles on the season. Denham shot a blistering 61.3-percent overall from the field on the year and started in 24 of the 26 games this season. The junior is also a two-time Liberty League All-Academic team honoree.
Fitzgerald completed one of the best individual seasons in Vassar Men's Basketball history as he earned the first-ever All-American nod by the NABC with a third team selection. Fitzgerald was also named the program's first All-Region selection in both D3hoops.com and NABC. Fitzgerald was named the Liberty League Player of the Year, the first since Zach Johnson in 2022, and an All-First Team Liberty League selection after leading the league in points per game with 19.7 and in free throw percentage at 88.0. He also was named the Liberty League Performer of the Week three times this season. Fitzgerald finished the regular season ranked in the top-75 in the country in points per game and 25th nationally in free throw percentage. Fitzgerald now holds the third highest points per game average in a single season at Vassar and holds the second highest free throw percentage mark in a single season in program history.
Medina started 25 of the 26 games this season as he finished his sophomore campaign with 4.6 points per game and five rebounds per contest. Medina also ranks tied for fourth on the squad in assists with 65 along with finishing third in steals with 27 and blocks with 16. The sophomore recorded a double-double in a victory against Clarkson with a career-high 11 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Medina also was named a Liberty League All-Academic team honoree.
Vassar closed the season at 16-10 overall and earned the third seed in the Liberty League Championship with a conference record of 12-4.
