Poughkeepsie, NY - D3hoops.com announced its All-Region teams on Tuesday afternoon as Vassar College Men's Basketball sophomore Shea Fitzgerald was tabbed as an All-Region III First Team selection.

This is the 24th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 28th annual All-America selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book. The men's All-America team will be announced prior to the Division III men's basketball championship games, which is on Saturday, March 22, at 4 p.m.

Fitzgerald earns another major accolade as a first team All-Region selection following the 2024-25 campaign as the sophomore was named the Liberty League Player of the Year along with being an All-Liberty League First Team selection. 

Fitzgerald was named the Liberty League Player of the Year, the first since Zach Johnson in 2022, and an All-First Team Liberty League selection after leading the league in points per game with 19.7 and in free throw percentage at 88.0. Fitzgerald was an integral part of the team earning the #3 seed in the Liberty League Championship and winning 12 regular season conference games for the first time in school history. He also was named the Liberty League Performer of the Week three times this season.

Fitzgerald finished the regular season ranked in the top-75 in the country in points per game and 25th nationally in free throw percentage. Fitzgerald now holds the third highest points per game average in a single season at Vassar and holds the second highest free throw percentage mark in a single season in program history.

Vassar closed the season at 16-10 overall and earned the third seed in the Liberty League Championship with a conference record of 12-4.
