Poughkeepsie, NY - The Vassar College Men's Fencing team registered four victories in the first home meet of the season at the Vassar Invitational as the Brewers were led by the sabre squad, who posted a 53-19 overall record in nine matchups.

Round 1 - Cornell 21 Vassar 6

• Epee - COR 9 VC 0
  • Sophomore Sam Sosnick and classmate Adam Elkashef each battled in three bouts.
  • Sophomore Harper Jamison fenced in three bouts and junior Christopher Garfield Sebert competed in two bouts.
• Foil - COR 8 VC 1
  • Sophomore Ethan Capra earned a victory along with first year Aaron Taplin and senior Ulysses Bergel battled in three bouts.
• Sabre - VC 5 COR 4
  • Senior Oliver Berger and sophomore David Sagardi Diaz each scored two wins.
  • Sophomore Devan McCarthy tallied a win and first year Luca Savoy fenced in one bout.

Round 2 - Vassar 25 Hunter 2

• Epee - VC 9 HUNT 0
  • Senior Brian Li, sophomore Alexander North and first year Jing Seto all went 3-0 for the round.
• Foil - VC 7 HUNT 2
  • Sophomore Alexander Gobbo posted a perfect 3-0 round while sophomore Kahlil Salome picked up two wins.
  • Capra and Bergel each scored a victory.
• Sabre - VC 9 HUNT 0
  • Berger and McCarthy each scored an undefeated 3-0 mark.
  • Sagardi DIaz earned two wins and Savoy tallied a victory.

  • North went a perfect 3-0 along with Seto earning two wins and Li adding a victory.

  • Berger and Sagardi Diaz each earned two wins while McCarthy added a victory.
