Ava Holman (St. Louis, MO) was named the Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season while sophomore
Laura Shea (Swarthmore, PA) picked up Defensive Performer of the Week accolades.
Holman finished a 2-0 week in Liberty League play for the Brewers with three points, scoring a goal and adding a helper. Holman did all her scoring in a 4-1 win at St. Lawrence on Saturday, moving into the team lead in goals with seven and game winning goals with three while sitting in a tie for the team lead with 15 points.
Among the conference leaders, Holman ranks second in the league in total goals and tied for second in total points and game winning goals.
Shea continued a strong season in goal for the Brewers after making 12 saves and working to a 0.50 goals against average and a .923 save percentage. Shea recorded her fourth shutout of the season with four saves in a 2-0 win against Union on Wednesday and followed that up with eight more stops in a 4-1 road victory at St. Lawrence on Saturday.
Shea currently ranks third in the Liberty League in goals against average (0.628) and save percentage (.854) and fourth in total shutouts.
Winners of five straight, Vassar heads into a Saturday contest with William Smith with an 11-2 overall record and a perfect 5-0 mark against conference rivals.
