TROY, NY - The Vassar College Women's Track and Field team began the two-day Liberty League Outdoor Track and Field Championships at RPI on Friday and currently rank fifth out of eight conference teams.

Heptathlon

• Junior Faye Stevens is in third place after the first four events as the junior finished third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.94 and was also third in the 200 meters in 28.09. Stevens was fourth in the high jump at 1.35 meters along with a fourth place finish in the shot put at 8.07 meters.
• First year Abigail Sasson sits in fourth place overall as the first year was second in the high jump at 1.47 meters along with seventh place finishes in the 100 meter hurdles in 18.03, shot put at 7.23 meters and 200 meters with a time of 29.77.

100 Meter Hurdles

• Sophomore Jahmilia Dennis qualified for tomorrow's finals with a second place finish in 14.95 while sophomore Freja Niklasson was 10th with a time of 16.38 and senior Nora Jensen was 11th in 16.38.

400 Meters

• Sophomore Margaret McLaughlin crossed the finish line with a time of 1:05.86.

100 Meters

• Three Brewers qualified for tomorrow's finals as senior Ava Novak posted the top prelim time of 12.31 followed by junior Traci Francis in sixth in 12.66 and sophomore Jamie Eu in seventh with a time of 12.90.

800 Meters

• Three Vassar runners qualified for tomorrow's finals as junior Sophia Henderson was second with an AARTFC and personal-best time of 2:18.05 along with first year Ava Whitney in sixth in an AARTFC time of 2:19.56 and first year Norah Reade in seventh with an AARTFC mark of 2:19.94.
• Senior Jordan Norman was 12th with a personal-best time of 2:21.20 followed by first year Addie Nyhan in 13th with a time of 2:22.30.

400 Meter Hurdles

• Niklasson was 11th with a time of 1:10.71 along with first year Maya Carey in 12th in 1:12.55 and senior Laura Wong crossing the finish line in 1:13.27.

200 Meters

• Novak also qualified for the finals in the 200 meters as the senior finished fourth overall with a personal-best time of 25.43.

3000 Meters Steeplechase

• First year Acadia Helfand scored a seventh place finish with an AARTFC and personal-best mark of 11:46.53.

10,000 Meters

• First year Cayley Swaim earned a fifth place finish in an AARTFC and personal-best time of 39:37.58 followed by senior Amaavi Miriyagalla in sixth overall with an AARTFC mark of 39:43.78.

Hammer Throw

• Junior Soleil Yuong posted a toss of 27.92 meters for a top-20 finish.

Long Jump

• Dennis earned a fifth place finish with a personal-best mark of 5.33 meters in the finals while Novak made the finals and finished ninth with a leap of 5.17 meters.
• Sophomore Sydney Passley-Harris scored a 10th place finish at 5.15 meters followed by Stevens in 11th with a mark of 5.12 meters.
• Senior Heather Kwafo recorded a top jump of 4.92 meters and Eu posted a leap of 4.80 meters.
