Troy, NY - The Vassar College Women's Track and Field team sits third overall after the opening night of the RPI Under the Lights Invite following a first place finish and the second fastest time in the 1500 meters in DIII this season from junior Haley Schoenegge and a new school record mark in the discus throw from senior Sydney Petrie.

Heptathlon

• Senior Freja Niklasson (2nd of 6)
  • Niklasson finished first overall in the 100 meter hurdles in 16.05 and tied for first in the high jump at 1.51 meters.
  • The senior placed third overall in the shot put at 8.06 meters anf fourth in the 200 meters in 27.85.
• Sophomore Elana Pukel (3rd of 6)
  • Pukel scored a first place finish at a career-best 9.61 meters in the shot put.
  • The sophomore finished third in the 100 meter hurdles in a new PR of 16.45 and the high jump at a career-best 1.36 meters.
  • Pukel placed sixth overall in the 200 meters with a collegiate-best time of 28.48.

200 Meters

• Sophomore Lainie D'Auria was the second-highest DIII finisher and seventh overall with a time of 25.42.
• Sophomore Lianna Camille placed 13th overall in 25.97 followed by first year Maddie Seguin in 14th in 26.09.
• Senior Jamie Eu tallied a 15th place finish in 26.66 along with first year Claire Seguin in 16th in 26.74.

3000 Meters Steeplechase

• Sophomore Elizabeth Lowe earned a second place finish with a time of 11:44.70.
• First year Taylor Vogt registered a season-best mark of 12:53.97 to finish sixth followed by classmate Emerson Wyatt tallied a seventh place finish in 13:08.78.

1500 Meters

• Schoenegge outpaced all Division I finishers as she recorded the second-fastest Division III time of the season to finish first with a time of 4:24.41.
• Senior Anika Mueller-Hickler placed ninth overall with a career-best time of 4:45.37.
• Sophomore Chloe Bibula tallied a 13th place finish in a collegiate-bets 4:49.52 followed by classmate Sarah France in 14th with a time of 4:52.34.

5000 Meters

• Sophomore Hadley Snell scored a first place finish with a new PR of 18:13.77, outpacing the next closest finisher by over 12 seconds.
• Senior Nora Goldberg-Courtney was fourth overall with a career-best time of 18:47.58.
• First year Cate Feudtner registered a fifth place finish with a time of 19:17.81.

10,000 Meters

• Senior Lily Shimpach turned in an eighth place finish with a time of 42:42.18.

Discus Throw

• Petrie broke her own school record to finish second with a top toss of 40.00 meters.
• Sophomore Amanda Hanrahan recorded a ninth place finish with a career-best mark of 34.78 meters.
• Sophomore Meara Morgan was 15th overall with a throw of 30.30 meters along with first year Anna Johnson in 17th at a season-best 29.57 meters.
• Senior Ava Gurley placed 21st overall with a mark of 28.02 meters while senior Abbe Colgan tallying a 26th place finish at 27.31 meters.

Javelin Throw

• First year Maddie Delaney placed 13th overall with a toss of 22.40 meters.

Long Jump

• D'Auria finished ninth overall with a new outdoor PR of 5.10 meters along with Eu recording a 10th place finish at 5.00 meters.

Pole Vault

• First year Sole Miller earned a fourth place finish with a mark of 2.70 meters.
