Women's Track and Field Finishes Third at RPI Under the Lights Invite

Dennis turns in third-best Division III triple jump mark at 11.95 meters

Troy, NY - The Vassar College Women's Track and Field team collected a third place finish out of 16 scoring teams at the two-day RPI Under the Lights Invite as senior Jahmilia Dennis posted the third-best triple jump mark of the season in Division III at 11.95 meters.

Heptathlon
  • Sophomore Elana Pukel (2nd of 6)
    • Pukel finished second overall as she took home a first place finish in the javelin throw with a top mark of 29.31 meters.
    • Pukel added a fourth place finish in the long jump with a PR of 4.86 meters and was sixth in the 800 meters in 2:54.44.
  • Senior Freja Niklasson (3rd of 6)
    • Niklasson placed third overall after fourth place finishes in the 800 meters (2:48.43) and the javelin throw at 12.76 meters.
    • Niklasson also finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 4.74 meters.
100 Meter Hurdles
  • Dennis scored a sixth place finish in the prelims with a time of 15.29.
100 Meters
  • Senior Jamie Eu was victorious in heat #3 in 12.95 to earn a spot in the finals. Eu followed it up with a seventh place finish in the finals with a time of 13.08.
  • First year Maddie Seguin won heat #1 with a time of 13.08 to advance to the finals. M. Seguin tallied a fifth place finish in the finals in 12.93.
  • First year Claire Seguin finished 13th overall in 13.40 followed by sophomore Mason Wilkins-Lanier in 14th position with a time of 13.44.
4x100 Relay 400 Meters
  • D'Auria placed seventh overall with a time of 1:01.09 along with sophomore Skylar Spiro in 13th position with a time of 1:03.71.
800 Meters
  • Sophomore Elizabeth Lowe tallied a third place finish with a time of 2:22.03.
Triple Jump
  • Dennis scored a first place finish with a top leap of 11.95 meters, which ranks as the third-best jump this season in Division III.
Hammer Throw
  • Sophomore Amanda Hanrahan earned a sixth place finish and was the second-best Division III finisher with a mark of 48.07 meters.
  • Sophomore Meara Morgan scored a 14th place finish with a mark of 38.01 meters while senior Kolby Davis was 21st overall at 29.39 meters.
Shot Put
  • Davis recorded a new career-best mark of 11.30 meters, just .03 meters off the school record, to finish eighth overall.
  • Hanrahan posted a 10th place finish with an outdoor PR of 10.84 meters.
  • Morgan was 17th place overall with a career-best mark of 10.07 meters while senior Ava Gurley tallied a top-25 finish at 8.63 meters.
  • First year Anna Johnson finished in the top-30 with a mark of 7.80 meters.
