Providence, RI - The Vassar College Men's Fencing team headed north to compete in the two-day Northeast Fencing Conference meet at Brown University on Saturday and Sunday as the Brewers collected conference victories over Sacred Heart and Wheaton (Mass.).
Vassar was led by the epee squad's record of 39-24 and first year
Alexander North posted a record of 16-2 over the two days to earn the NFC Fencer of the Year (first since Eli Polston in 2016) and NFC Rookie of the Year titles. Senior
Eli Weise was named a Second Team NFC All-Star in epee while first year
Devan McCarthy garnered Second Team All-Star recognition in sabre.
Round One - MIT 18 VC 9
- Epee - MIT 6 VC 3
- North earned two wins along with Weise collecting a victory.
- Junior Brian Li fenced in three bouts.
- Foil - MIT 7 VC 2
- Sabre - MIT 5 VC 4
- First year David Sagardi Diaz and McCarthy both registered two victories along with first year Karthik Shankar competed in three bouts.
Round Two - Brandeis 16 VC 11
- Epee - VC 5 BRAN 4
- North posted a perfect 3-0 mark along with Weise collecting two victories and Li earning a win.
- Foil - BRAN 5 VC 4
- Traugot and Gobbo each scored two victories while first year Hanley Tapia fenced in three bouts.
- Sabre - BRAN 7 VC 2
- Sagardi Diaz and McCarthy both earned a win along with Shankar battling in three bouts.

- Epee - BC 5 VC 4
- North earned two victories while first year Harper Jamison and Li collected a win each.
- Weise competed in one bout.

- Traugot earned a victory along with Salome and Tapia competing in three bouts.

- Jamison tallied two wins along with Li earning a victory.
- First year Sam Sosnick fenced in two bouts along with Weise battling in one.

- Traugout earned two victories while Salome and Tapia competed in three bouts apiece.

- McCarthy and Sagardi Diaz each scored a win along with senior Noah Rudnet fencing in three bouts

- Weise, Jamison and North all recorded three victories

- Gobbo earned two victories along with Traugot scoring a win.
- Salome competed in three bouts.

- McCarthy posted a perfect 3-0 round while Sagardi Diaz and Shankar each added two victories.

- Weise, Li and North all collected perfect 3-0 marks.

- Salome and Traguot each fenced in three bouts along with Gobbo competing in two and Tapia battling in one.

- McCarthy earned two wins along with Sagardi Diaz tallying a victory.
